Efficacy concerns - not refrigerated

Bottles were not packaged in dry ice to keep cold so it is certain how long the probiotics were not refrigerated and what their efficacy is. I emailed customer service to ask and never heard anything.

I'm in my 4th day of taking your Adult's Probiotic - which was highly recommended at my local organic food market - but am becoming increasing concerned as I'm experiencing chills, prickly skin, and additional gastrointestinal bloating after eating and off and on throughout the day. Have others had unexpected side effects? I am highly sensitive to drugs and supplements in general and have a compromised immune system. A probiotic is necessary to rebuild my gut biome destroyed by antibiotics. (I took 1 Flora capsule each day after breakfast on a full stomach.) Sincerely, Kathy Carlisle

Thanks for contacting us. Those aren't typical side effects of probiotics for most people. Do you have any allergies to dairy or soy? Small amounts of those are used in making the probiotics. i have half bottle of Flora Adult Probiotics, refrigerated, dated use by 7/2023. Is it Ok to use it up now, 1 year later? Potency same?

Hi Gail,
We don't do any quality testing on products past their expiry date. A probiotic 1 year past its expiry date would've lost of a significant amount of potency so I wouldn't recommend using it.

With most of the probiotics I've taken I ingest them on an empty stomach. This is one of the first I've seen that recommends taking it with food. Would it be okay to take on an empty stomach? Thanks

Hi Russell, yes, you are welcome to take Flora probiotics on an empty stomach if you prefer to or are accustomed to doing so. We have done extensive testing and know they will survive under a wide variety of circumstances. Our strains are mindfully, even painstakingly chosen to survive through all the various digestive environments of the human body. If you are able to take them when there is food in your system we have found that that is their preferential time, that's all.
