How large are these capsules?

Hi Anita,

They are a size 0.
They hold less than half a cc.

Size 0 capsules tend to be manageable for most people.

If you struggle with anything but the smallest size caps, that really isn't a problem at all - our probiotics are designed to not require capsules to survive.

So, you can open the capsules and take the powder directly in your mouth, or mixed into something such as applesauce. It doesn't perfectly dissolve in water but it does mix into things like yogurt without any problem.

I am a 58 year old male and looking to take your adult probiotic that was recommended by a fitness instructor. I did noticed that it is recommended for people under 55. Do to my age, should I use the advanced ? Also, is there any side effects with certain medications?

Hi Michael,
The age recommendations are suggestions more than hard and fast rules. At 55 you could take either the Adult or Advanced Adult. There is a decline in Bifidobacteria populations in the large intestine that occurs more and more in late 50s and 60s so that would be a major reason to start or switch to the Advanced Adult formula as it has higher amounts of those types of probiotics.

How long will these last unrefridgerated? I will be traveling overseas. The travel time is 20 hours and I am unsure if I will have access to a refrigerator when I arrive.

Hi Debra,

Enjoy your trip. The 20 hours is not at all a concern. The most important thing you can do is keep them in their original packaging, with the stuffing still inside the glass bottle for additional insulation.

Our refrigerated probiotics can be in transit like this for up to a week without affecting their potency guarantees.

Then they will lose about 1% per day at typical room temp (18-25C / 64-77F). While that is faster than the 2% per month lost when stored in the fridge, it may still be acceptable for you.
Keeping them out of direct sunlight and at as low of a temperature as you can, when you can, should help. A little warmth, however, does not pose any safety concerns.
