Hello all, my name is Kenan Bridges. I am Flora Inc.’s first summer intern and could not be more thrilled about it! So here is a little bit about myself…
I am 21 years old and about to begin my senior year at East Carolina University. Yikes! That’s pretty scary even to type out. I will graduate in 2018 with a degree in Public Health concentrating in Community Health. I have a passion for promoting the well-being of others through health education, promotion, and prevention. This is why I reached out to Flora, to learn and be involved in a company that truly cares for their consumer’s welfare.
While working with Flora, I have developed an appreciation for the world of natural health. Living a healthy life doesn’t have to be as complex as so many believe it to be. Flora has a vast array of products that support this. During my time here, I have had the privilege of working within the marketing department, learning about every product that Flora offers. Although marketing isn't necessarily in the realm of my major, I have learned that my knowledge of public health can be applied in most situations. After all, we are marketing a healthy lifestyle.
I must say that taking this trip some 3,000+ miles from my home has been an incredible experience. I appreciate the relationships that I have made while working with this amazing team. This internship has given me a glimpse of what lies in my future.
Upon completing my degree, I honestly have no idea what I’ll be doing. I would love an opportunity to travel and see the world. With a degree in Public Health, there are so many options from working with a federal agency to prevent disease outbreak, to providing support in a foreign country through a non-profit organization. No matter where I end up, I know that I will be in the right place.
