Dr. Charles Brusch, M.D. |
Elaine Alexander |
The nurse, Rene Caisse, famous for her herbal tea, now known to all as Flor • Essence, also developed several other herbal formulas, one of which is Pro • Essence. She and the well-known MD Dr. Charles Brusch (personal physician to the former president John F. Kennedy) were long time partners in further research and development of other related formulas including Pro • Essence. Over the years great success was obtained with these remedies for thousands of people. The Pro • Essence formula was passed over to Elaine Alexander in 1988 when Elaine and Dr. Brusch became legal partners.
How to take Pro • Essence
Pro • Essence is available in convenient, easily digested vegetarian capsules (Vegicaps), and contains no yeast, fillers or preservatives. It is a completely natural herbal formula wit no unpleasant side effects.
Instructions:
1. Take one capsule in the early morning and one capsule in the late evening with a large glass of warm water. If needed, take another capsule in the mid morning and mid afternoon, for a maximum of four capsules per day.
2. When improvement is shown to be stable, gradually cut back to one capsule a day in the morning. You may continue on one a day as long as desired.
3. When taking Pro • Essence, drink lots of non-chlorinated water (4-6 glasses) throughout the day. This helps activate the herbs and also flush the toxins out. (Many people find it easier to drink a greater number of small glasses of water throughout the day).
4. Rene Caisse also gave the Pro • Essence formula to many of those taking her herbal tea, Flor • Essence. It enhanced the function of Flor • Essence and helped eliminate toxins from the body.
5. If taking both Flor • Essence and Pro • Essence, take them one hour apart. If already taking Flor • Essence twice a day, only one or two capsules per day of Pro • Essence are needed.
6. If the objective is to improve the overall health of the urinary tract or the prostate, Pro • Essence will be very beneficial on its own.
The Herbs in Pro • Essence
Burdock root - Arctium lappa
This plant has been used for centuries throughout the world because of its powerful cleansing and purifying properties. It can help the excretory system function at optimum efficiency, thereby improving the elimination of wastes and fluids that are toxic to the body. Burdock contains several vitamins and high amounts of many of the important minerals. The Chinese considered burdock to be strengthening and nutritive, making it an excellent tonic. Burdock's main active ingredient is inulin, which aids the metabolism and the immune system, boosting energy and strengthening the body's resistance.
Slippery elm bark - Ulmus rubra
The bark used here is the inner bark, which cleanses, soothes and strengthens the mucous membranes, thereby revitalizing the entire body. It has a mucilagenous property, which helps heal by gathering, dissolving and eliminating excess mucous.
Prickly ash bark - Xanthoxylum clava-herculis
Prickly ash's main influence is a stimulating one, much like cayenne, making it an excellent tonic. One of its components, berberine, has been shown to help rejuvenate the body when the immune system is compromised. Its gentle action is especially beneficial to the convalescent, and the elderly. It helps alleviate difficulties in a variety of body systems.
Juniper berry - Juniperus communis
Used in folk medicine for many years, these berries have a historical reputation as an effective diuretic, benefiting the organs of excretion. Juniper berries are traditionally believed to have antiseptic qualities, and they have an active ingredient that makes them an excellent bitter.
Bearberry - Arctostaphylos uva-ursi
Traditionally bearberry is a popular astringent and tonic, and has many health promoting actions specific to the bladder and kidneys. They soothe, tone and strengthen, as well as aiding in the elimination of uric acid.
