Elder flowers (Sambucus nigra):
The medicinal components in elder flowers act on the cause of the illness, while at the same time alleviating the symptoms. The extract from elder blossoms helps the body resist infection, clear sinus and bronchial congestion, and soothe sore throats and coughs. Due to similarities in hayfever symptoms, Sambu®Guard may also be useful for seasonal allergies.

Elderberries (Sambucus nigra): These therapeutic berries give Sambu®Guard a rich and delicious flavour that tastes like a mixture of black currants, blueberries and raspberries. The flavonoids (including quercetin, rutin and anthocyanins) in elderberries prevent healthy cells from being attacked. The active constituents in elderberries have been shown to neutralize the burr-like spikes on several viruses so that they cannot break through cell walls and multiply within the cell.
Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) plant concentrate (1:22):
Echinacea is a proven overall immune system booster that enhances the body’s resistance to illnesses by fighting invading infections. The echinacea used in Sambu®Guard is pressed from fresh organically grown plants shortly after harvesting. This method ensures a maximum amount of active ingredients in the finished product.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) & Acerola Cherry (Malpighia punicifolia) fruit powder:
Vitamin C is a well-known antioxidant that protects the body from day-to-day wear and tear inflicted by illness, stress and pollution. It is extremely effective at fighting infections and strengthening the immune system. Powdered acerola (a cherry-like fruit native to the West Indies) is added to Sambu®Guard because of its high content of natural vitamin C. The amount of vitamin C in 1 Tbsp (15 ml) of Sambu®Guard meets the recommended daily allowance.
Honey:
Sambu®Guard is naturally sweetened with honey.
Recognized throughout Europe
Elder flowers are recognized in both The British Herbal Pharmacopoeia (an official listing of all recognized drugs) and the German Commission E for their ability to treat feverish colds and chills, and to clear the respiratory tract. Elderberries are noted for their ability to ease sore throats and to deactivate viruses so that they can no longer replicate.
