Quality Assurance Assistant

Flora Manufacturing & Distributing Ltd. (“Flora”) is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant for our Burnaby, B.C. location.  Flora is a leading manufacturer and world wide distributor of natural health products, vitamins, supplements, and herbal remedies.

 

The right candidate will be a self-starter with good communication and technical skills who is able to work independently as well as part of a team. The Quality Assurance Assistant reports to the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager.

 

Job Description:

 

  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints/adverse reactions and prepare report
  • Provide technical support to Customer service, Marketing, Export and other departments and address product-related questions
  • Manage documentation, update and track SOPs, certificate of analysis and product specifications, prepare documents including CofA’s, flow-chart and stability reports, collect and compile product information from suppliers
  • Coordinate change control program, assist in impact analysis of product and process changes, coordinate the implementation of changes by notifying departments affected and tracking cc’s
  • Conduct Product evaluations for new materials and suppliers, test pre-shipment herb samples prior to material order, test potential new packaging materials, assist in new product development
  • Assist in enforcing GMPs compliance in various departments
  • Provide GMP support to Production Department, review and approve MWOs, provide guidance on production deviations, receipt of substandard materials and other issues; environmental monitoring in production areas
  • Coordinate product stability program, collect samples, schedule test intervals, prepare samples for testing; prepare reports
  • Assist in other various duties and special projects

Qualification Requirement:

 

  • A University Degree or Technical Diploma in related scientific field
  • Working experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the natural health products industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills including effective prioritization and follow-up
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, Windows and Internet Explorer
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively
  • Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy

Compensation: $15.00-$18.00 to start (depending on experience) + comprehensive benefits package.

 

Hours of Work:  Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Bilingual Product Information Assistant

 

Job Description:

 

As the Bilingual Product Information Assistant you will provide product informational support to Flora’s customers and employees, with attention to French speaking inquiries and assist in research and product development projects.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

·         Respond to all inquiries about Flora products (French and English)

·         Educate consumers about Flora Products

·         Educate Flora customer service representatives, sales staff, retailers and general consumers about Flora Products

·         Ensure that product information is kept current and documents are updated as required

·         Research health areas and inform management of trends

·         Assist with development of Product Information Manual

·         Consult re: herbal information for labels, ads, promotions

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

 

·         Master Herbalist or Herbologist

·         1-3 years of related working experience

·         Fluent in French and English

·         Strong knowledge of the natural health products industry

·         Excellent communication skills with a well developed professional phone manner

·         Strong organizational skills including effective prioritization and follow-up

·         Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team

·         Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, Windows and Internet Explorer

·         Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively

·         Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy

 

Compensation:  $38,000 - $40,000 to start (depending on experience) + comprehensive benefits package.

Sales Representative

 

Flora Manufacturing & Distributing Ltd. (“Flora”) is currently seeking a qualified Sales Representative to service our “Alberta North” customers.  Flora is a leading manufacturer and world wide distributor of natural health products, vitamins, supplements, and herbal remedies.

 

Job Description:

 

As the “Alberta North” Sales Representative you will visit and support retailers in your assigned territory on a regular schedule in order to promote and sell Flora products.  You will assist customers and their staff with education about Flora’s products and help plan sales promotions.

 

The successful applicant will be customer service oriented, excellent communications skills, and have a proven record of accomplishment in sales.   We are looking for a self starter, who can work as part of a team, is creative and flexible.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Participate in sales and business development activities including proposals and pitches with the goal of winning new business
  • Negotiate contracts with customers
  • Develop ongoing and profitable relationships with current and potential customers
  • Work closely with Regional Sales Manager in planning and developing strategies and implementing programs to ensure effective selling, promotion, customer education and seamless customer service and satisfaction
  • Setting up and maintaining store displays for our retail customers as applicable
  • Responsible for achieving personal sales targets within an assigned territory
  • Distribute sales and marketing literature to current and potential customers
  • Participate in Company Sales Meetings and activities as required
  • Participate in trade shows as required
  • Produce weekly sales reports for the Regional Sales Manager
  • Some overnight travel is required

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • Completion of High School
  • University or College degree in Business Administration and/or Marketing is an asset
  • 1 - 3 years of previous sales experience
  • Knowledge of the natural health products industry an asset
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups
  • Valid Driver’s License

 

Reliable transportation is required as the position involves overnight travel.

 

Compensation:  $40,000 - $60,000 + bonuses, car allowance, and comprehensive benefits package.
