Demand Planner – Burnaby

Flora Manufacturing is an established natural health supplement manufacturer and distributor and we are seeking to fill the position of Demand Planner based at our facility in Burnaby, BC. 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models for both Canada and the US by incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from the Sales, Marketing and Finance Departments and other third-party sources (such as, Nielsen or other syndicated consumer data sources).

Responsibilities:

  • Design and generate monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical forecast reports for all finished good SKUs
  • Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets) while continuously improving forecasting techniques, method, and approach to improve forecast accuracy
  • Establish and utilize best methods (statistical models and software tools) in creating forecasts and respective inventory targets
  • Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating the sales forecast (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and eventually tier 1 account POS and inventory levels)
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve potential issues (ie. overstock, out-of-stocks, etc.)
  • Make recommended adjustments to forecast and inventory targets based on changes in demand and market trends
  • Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and systems
  • Proactively facilitate, re-engineer best practices and build consensus between functional experts (Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing, Operations, Finance, and IT)
  • Lead forecast and inventory planning meetings with Marketing & Sales Teams, and review recommended sales forecasts and inventory goals (emphasis on brand transitions, new product introduction, promotions, and product phase-outs)
  • Monitor SKU levels and recommend SKU rationalization initiatives in the future
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in business, supply chain or other related field with 2-3 years of work experience in master scheduling, forecasting, purchasing and/or planning
  • APICS or other forecasting certification is an asset
  • Experience with DRP/MRP functionality
  • Experience using ERP statistical software packages; experience with Ross Software is preferred
  • Experience in managing end of life cycle and absolute inventory
  • Experience in business analysis, manufacturing, production and GMP process are all considered assets
  • Strong knowledge of demand planning process within Food & Beverage Industry
  • Knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain issues
  • Good understanding of both Canadian and US market demands and trends
  • Good communication and team building skills while being able to lead cross-functionally

Demo Representative – Vancouver

Flora Manufacturing is an established natural health supplement manufacturer and distributor and we are seeking to fill the position of Product Demonstration Representative for Greater Vancouver.

Reporting to the Account Manager, the Product Demonstration Representative will be responsible for demonstrating products in health stores, educating consumers of the benefits of the supplements and generating revenue of products demonstrated for the store and Flora. 

Responsibilities:

  • Engage and educate customers about the products demonstrated and how they are beneficial to maintaining health and treating health conditions
  • Proactively and confidently approach customers, effectively communicating benefits of the products
  • Ability to generate excitement and brand awareness of Flora products
  • Educate store staff about products demonstrated and others in the Flora line should they have questions
  • Represent the Flora brand with professionalism
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work space
  • Write and submit a sales report for each demonstration, to be submitted to Account Manager

Qualifications:

Quality Assurance Coordinator (temporary)

Flora Manufacturing is an established natural health supplement manufacturer and distributor and we are seeking to fill the temporary position of Quality Assurance Coordinator out of our Burnaby facility.  This position will be for approximately nine (9) months in duration with the possibility of extension(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints/adverse reactions and prepare report
  • Provide technical support to Customer service, Marketing, Export and other departments and address product-related questions
  • Manage documentation, update and track SOPs, certificate of analysis and product specifications, prepare documents including CofA's, flow-chart and stability reports, collect and compile product information from suppliers
  • Coordinate change control program, assist in impact analysis of product and process changes, coordinate the implementation of changes by notifying departments affected and tracking cc's
  • Conduct Product evaluations for new materials and suppliers, test pre-shipment herb samples prior to material order, test potential new packaging materials, assist in new product development
  • Assist in enforcing GMPs compliance in various departments
  • Provide GMP support to Production Department, review and approve MWOs, provide guidance on production deviations, receipt of substandard materials and other issues; environmental monitoring in production areas
  • Coordinate product stability program, collect samples, schedule test intervals, prepare samples for testing; prepare reports
  • Assist in other various duties and special projects

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in related field coupled with about 1 year experience in the QA / QC environment with knowledge of the natural health products or pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified environment preferred
  • Experience with an ERP system is preferred
  • Analytical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills including effective prioritization and follow-up

Warehouse Supervisor (Lynden)

Flora Inc, a leading manufacturer and distributor of natural health supplements is seeking a full time Warehouse Supervisor. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving raw materials and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records. In coordination with the Warehouse Administrator, the Warehouse Supervisor is also responsible for human resources activities, such as, training, planning and assigning daily work, managing performance, addressing performance issues, resolving problems, and ensuring that SOP, GMP, and other company policies and procedures are adhered to.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years warehouse/inventory experience with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrates leadership by example as a positive, energetic and enthusiastic team leader.
  • Ability to operate and maintain company equipment in a safe manner at all times.

  • Regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to work in freezer and cooler as well as the warehouse.

Flora Inc. is an established natural health supplement manufacturer and distributor and we are seeking to fill the position of Human Resources Generalist based at our facility in Lynden, Washington. 

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, HR Generalist is primarily responsible for implementing HR strategies that will drive organizational and team performance to achieve business goals while complying with employment, health, safety, and privacy laws and regulations. The incumbent is also responsible for office administration.

HR Responsibilities (approximately 65%):

  • Build and foster relationships to effectively partner with the business to support and influence business decisions and anticipate HR issues as a result of long-range business strategies.   
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment and selection:  role evaluating, job posting, screening, interviewing, reference checking, conducting employment checks /psychometric tests, preparing offer letters and conducting orientations.
  • Provide support and advice to managers and employees on a variety of HR items, including performance management, career development, attendance management, disability management, etc.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of policies and procedures and ensure the policies are consistently applied.
  • Partner with the Management Team to review, update and administer the health & safety program and ensure compliance to all applicable safety regulations.
  • Participate in various HR projects:  benefits analysis, attendance management, health & safety, compensation analysis, HR metrics/reporting, etc. 
  • Organize and plan staff appreciation events (such as, Summer Employee Appreciation, December Holiday Luncheon/Dinner, etc.).
  • Process new hires in ADP system and benefits administration.
  • Any other projects required.

Office Management Responsibilities (approximately 35%):

  • Lead and support administrative staff.
  • Maintain various renewals, licenses and insurance policies.
  • Issue Certificates of Liability to wholesale customers.
  • Perform bank deposits.
  • File Annual Tax Deferral Survey.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • About 5 years of HR experience and minimum of 2 years of office management experience
  • PHR and SPHR Certification preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) an asset
  • Solid understanding and ability to stay current on changing Washington State and Federal Employment Laws including Worker’s Compensation, Employment Security, FMLA, Wage and Hour, ADEA and EOE
